The Local 652 Chaplains serves people of all faiths and respects their faith as well as those who express no particular faith at all.
The Chaplain does not impose their beliefs on others or seek to persuade workers to accept their religion or belief. The Chaplain Does NOT organize a church within the workplace. Our mission can be summed up by our motto: “Caring In The Workplace.”

All contacts between the worker and a chaplain are in strict confidence. No information will be shared with any member or officer of the local union or with management without consent of the worker.
Every Chaplain is a minister but not every minister can be a UAW Chplain. In addition to special training and experience, the UAW Chaplain must be able to work in a setting where the unexpected is to be expected.

The UAW Chaplaincy program provides a wide range of ministries and services which include:
Home Visitation
Crisis Communication
Hospital Intervention
Weddings (In Plant or Out)
Godly Council
Funeral and related ministries
In Plant Memorials
Inside and Outside Plant Contact
Prayer Request

A Chaplain provides services as requested and does not replace the workers normal Clergy contact.

Since 1944 when the UAW Veteran’s Department was created, our Union has continually reaffirmed its commitment to Veterans through the passage of the pro-veterans resolutions; the creation of standing Veteran’s Committees in our Local Unions, the creation of a National Veterans Advisory Committee in 1995, and the first UAW National Veterans Conference in 1995.

The UAW National Veterans Advisory Committee shall seek to represent the interests of all active and retired UAW members who are veterans.

We are dedicated to responding to the political and social needs of veterans and their families by providing leadership, guidance, and education on matters of concern to veterans.
We shall seek avenues to encourage veterans to become more active within their local unions, to participate in community activities, and to support and promote those policies and goals of the UAW which will benefit veterans and their families.    We shall strive to build and enhance the confidence and dignity which all veterans are entitled to share in having served their country, as well as the price of membership and participation in their strong and democratic Union.

The entire UAW deeply appreciates the proud service offered to our nation, to communities all across the country, and to our Union by our members who are Veteran’s of the United States Armed Forces.
